Description
Tahitian Ginger - Alpinia is rare and hard to find. Considered to be one of the first Gingers to come to the islands of Hawaii.
From Tahiti, this large ginger grows to a height of 10-12 feet, with large green leaves 3 feet long and 8 inches wide, the flower head is as large as a football and made up of a series of tight red bract clusters with little white flowers emerging from the bracts. Very RARE.
I am truly blessed to have discovered the Tahitian Ginger in the tropical rainforest of Hana, Maui, Hawai'i.
