Original Acrylics Painting by Karon Melillo d'Vega c. 2008 - i actually began this painting in 2002, i have turned this canvas and painted it from so many different angles, upside down, sideways, it is heavy with paint and has amazing texture. I have experienced this on several occasions while exploring the wilderness, to walk up on a bear is a heart-stopping experience. they blend in so well with the landscape so if they are silent, it is possible to walk directly up on them within a few feet. Fortunately we respected each other in all encounters and i have the wonderful and powerful experience of having made eye contact with bears. Painted purely from my imagination in impressionism style
